location
Sleeping from 1 to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, Stepping Stones is a modern, luxury, detached bungalow set in a quiet location at Begelly, Kilgetty.
Just opposite the community green space in New Road, there is very little passing traffic, so the bungalow is in a lovely quiet place, but very well placed for getting to everything you need locally. It is just 2 miles to the beach and harbour at Saundersfoot and a short walk to the village centre in Kilgetty where there are many shops, including a supermarket, post office, bakery, chemist, two pubs, and two "take-away" food outlets, a fish and chip shop and a Chinese take-away.
Kilgetty is the gateway to South Pembrokeshire, now by-passed by the main A477 road from St Clears to Pembroke Dock. Stepping Stones is in New Road, just 200 yards from the Begelly Arms, which serves good food lunchtime and evenings. There's a very popular carvery and an extensive menu which includes vegetarian options. From here it is just a short drive to all the local attractions in Pembrokeshire. Folly Farm, Oakwood, and Blue Lagoon are in the Narberth direction, and to the south are all the best beaches, Amroth, Wiseman's Bridge, Coppet Hall, and the famous "Blue Flag" beaches of Tenby. To the west, Carew Castle and Tidal Mill is a 10 minute drive, Pembroke Castle, Stackpole, Bosherston, and the Coast Path towards Castlemartin offer spectacular scenery, and the beautiful beach at Barafundle is not to be missed. To the east, a visit to Laugharne, with Dylan Thomas's famous writing shed, is a good day out. Further on, the county town of Carmarthen on the river Tywi has some good shopping, and the National Botanic Garden can easily be a day visit, or combined with the National Trust house and gardens at Aberglasney. There is so much to see and do that one holiday is never enough!
If your friends or family need additional accommodation in Pembrokeshire they should look at Black Hall Cottage on the coast at Amroth, and for Bed & Breakfast look at Whitehall Lodge which is just five minutes away from Stepping Stones.
